Shipston High School congratulates our Year 11 students on the fantastic GCSE results achieved this year. Students have had an extremely challenging time since the government’s cancellation of the usual examinations. The grades awarded represent the hard work across the duration of their courses, and their commitment has been rewarded with impressive individual performances and strong results across the school. All students should be very proud.

Shipston High School has once again proved its reputation for high academic achievement with a host of top grades across all subjects. Shipston High is proud of the wide success for our students, including those who scored especially impressively by securing a grade 9 in at least seven different subjects.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of centre assessed grades, checked against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.

Gavin Saunders, the school’s headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our students, supported by their families and teachers, have worked with real commitment to ensure they can pursue their ambitions in education, training and employment and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
