Woman in Black – Malvern Theatre, Thursday 9th November

Students from years 9,10 and 11 enjoyed a trip to the Malvern theatre to watch the Woman in Black. This is a wonderful production about a lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by a Woman in Black. It begins relatively mildly, but as they reach deeper into his darkest memories they find themselves caught up in a darkened world.

The learning intention for the students was to see live theatre in preparation for Section B of the written exam for the GCSE; additionally to enjoy live theatre and see how the artistic intention of scaring the audience can be realised through use of dramatic conventions such as contrast, breaking the fourth wall and multi role play.

A wonderful time was had by all.
